Sonja Sylling is a self-taught artist whose goal is to add color and inspiration to interior spaces. Transforming pieces used on a daily basis into art, they become an inspiring mantra every time you look in the mirror or turn on a light. She has taken the Italian-born idea of decoupage (gluing paper to furniture) and put a modern twist on it by using photography for the paper and also adding decorations like gems, metal, wire, and glitter. All of the pieces are coated with a protective resin giving them a shiny 'tile" effect. Sonja has been selling her artwork at local craft fairs and shops for the past 4 years and has recently opened her own shop in Seattle's University District.
